Description of obverse and reverse

The coin’s obverse portrays the image of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the ruler of the UK and the Cook Islands made by the famous sculptor Raphael McLouf, and also the year of issue and the face value NZ $2.
On the coin’s reverse in the right upper part the figure of the soldier with Kalashnikov Automatic rifle is coined. In the left upper part of the coin there is a red star with a yellow hammer and sickle on it, set off in a light relief. Coined image of AK-47 is located in the lower part of the coinInscriptions “AK-47 60-th Anniversary 1947-2007” and “Kalashnikov Automatic rifle Model 1947” are placed correspondingly on the top and at the bottom of the coin.
