Description of obverse and reverse
The coin’s obverse portrays the image of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the ruler of the UK and the Cook Islands made by the famous sculptor Raphael McLouf, and also the year of issue and the face value NZ $2.
On the coin’s reverse there is a coloured portrait of the creator of the famous ÀÊ-47 constructor Mikhail Timofeyevich Kalashnikov and coined image of the automatic rifle model ÀÊ-47. Inscriptions with the coin’s title “Kalashinkov automatic rifle Model 1947” and “60-th Anniversary” are placed correspondingly in the upper and lower part of the coin. Inscriptions representing the metal and its purity are situated to the left and to the right of the portrait.
