Description of obverse and reverse

Obverse: At its center, the Mexican national coat of arms in relief, surrounded by the legend: “ESTADOS UNIDOS MEXICANOS”. Following the frame contour, the reproduction of different national coat of arms used trough the history of Mexico, as well as the eagle that is found at the first page of the Mendocino codex. The frame is flat.
Reverse: In the center, the reproduction of the Piedra de los Soles (Stone of the Suns), commonly known as Calendario Azteca (Aztec Calendar), found at the National Museum of Anthropology in Mexico City. At the upper field, parallel to the frame and following its contour, the legend “CALENDARIO AZTECA”. In the right field, the mint mark of Casa de Moneda de Mexico (the Mexican Mint). At the left field the sign “$”, followed by the number “100”. In the left field, parallel to the frame and following its contour, the mintage year, followed by the legend “1 kg PLATA PURA LEY .999”. Flat frame.
