Description of obverse and reverse

Obverse. Issued as legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965. The obverse design bears the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the inscriptions “ELIZABETH II”, “AUSTRALIA” and the monetary denomination.
Reverse. The Landmarks Silver Series in the Discover Australia coin program includes Kakadu. Home to many endangered species and a major concentration of ancient Aboriginal cave paintings, the regional town in the north-west of Western Australia is celebrated for its natural and cultural values. The reverse design, which incorporates The Perth Mint’s traditional ‘P’ mintmark, portrays the region’s famous waterlilies in colour and a crocodile.
