Description of obverse and reverse |
2009 coincides with the International Year of Astronomy and the 40th anniversary of Neil Armstrong’s first steps on the Moon. These two events were an ideal opportunity for Mint of Paris to issue a coin with a raised surface made possible by a stunning technological innovation: the first domed coin depicting a lunar relief on its convex reverse with a heavenly vault in blue gold Ludwig Muller. |
