Description of obverse and reverse
Obverse: in a grotesque style there is a circle composition "A storyteller and listeners", consisting of the heroes of the literary work "Evenings on a Farm near Dikanka", in the center there is a portrait of Nikolai Gogol with a pinion in his hand, on the top there is a small National Emblem of Ukraine, a semicircle inscription "ÍÀÖ²ÎÍÀËÜÍÈÉ ÁÀÍÊ ÓÊÐÀ¯ÍÈ", in the bottom – 50 ÃÐÈÂÅÍÜ.
Reverse: in a grotesque style there is a circle composition illustrating the story "The Night before Christmas", in the center there is a Christmas star with a candle inside, the flame imitates the yellow sapphire. Below there is a semicircle inscription "Í²× ÏÅÐÅÄ Ð²ÇÄÂÎÌ".
